鑽石的價格是由鑽石的4C決定鑽石身價的重點，4C即為克拉(Carat)、顏色(Color)、淨度(Clarity)、車工(Cut)。

GIA diamond grades (4C) are established to present the diamond’s value and its price. Each of the four C’s (Carat Weight, Cut, Color, Clarity) is accompanied by a diamond chart illustrating the differences between grades.

The "color" of a diamond refers to its degree of "yellowness." The ideal diamond is completely colorless, and therefore it will be the most expensive. Many systems have been used to grade diamond color alphabetically from D (totally colorless) to Z (yellow) .

淨度(Clarity)：淨度是指鑽石的純淨度與透明度，當鑽石的內含物及污點越少就越顯獨特，鑽石的身價就越高。
淨度的等級有IF、VVS、VS、SI、I等，從最好IF (Internal Flawless)到I (Included)。

Clarity is a measure of the number and extent of the flaws in the diamond. A diamond's clarity refers to the presence of identifying characteristics on and within the diamond. Diamond clarity is graded using ten-power magnification, as most inclusions are invisible to the unaided eye.
The scales in clarity from the highest to lowest are IF (Internal Flawless), VVS, VS, SI to I(Included)

Diamonds are sold by the carat (shown as ct), which is actually a unit of weight. A carat is equal to exactly 0.2 grams. As the carat size of a diamond increasese, the diamond’s price increases at an increasing rate since the larger the diamond, the more increasingly rare it is.
